A CPL course is a DGCA-approved flight training program that qualifies you to fly commercial aircraft as a paid pilot. It typically takes 24–26 months, requires Class 12 with Physics & Maths and includes 200 hours of flying, ground school exams and a medical fitness certificate.

The candidate must be 18 years of age when submitting the final application for CPL. This means most of the eligibility criteria listed below can be completed prior to attaining the age of 18.
The candidate must be Class 12th pass (with Physics & Maths) from a recognised Central or State Board. If Physics and/or Maths were not part of Class 12th, these can be cleared through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
The candidate must have passed the following exams conducted by DGCA:
The candidate should hold a valid FRTOL issued by DGCA after having passed the RTR (A) exam.
The candidate should have passed the English Language Proficiency (ELP) Test conducted by centres/examiners designated by DGCA.
The candidate should have a valid Class-I medical fitness certificate issued by DGCA. The candidate should have completed minimum 200 hours of flying.
